UNILAG Announces Bunmi Innovation Challenge 2025 with ₦5 Million Cash Prize
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has launched the Bunmi Innovation Challenge 2025, offering up to ₦5 million in cash prizes to students developing innovative solutions in Agriculture and Food Security.
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the commencement of the Bunmi Innovation Challenge 2025, an initiative aimed at fostering innovative solutions in key sectors such as Agriculture and Food Security. The competition, which offers cash prizes of up to ₦5 million, is open to students from all tertiary institutions in Lagos, Nigeria.

The challenge is sponsored by UNILAG alumnus Oluwabunmi Balogun and is being organized by the Department of Physics, UNILAG, in collaboration with the Innovation and Technology Management Office (ITMO). It seeks to encourage students to develop creative and practical solutions to pressing challenges while enhancing their entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills.
While the competition is spearheaded by UNILAG, participation is not limited to students of the institution. Instead, all students from any tertiary institution within Lagos, regardless of their faculty or discipline, are eligible to compete. This inclusive approach aims to attract a diverse pool of ideas and talent from various academic backgrounds.
Interested participants must register for the challenge via the official registration link (https://bit.ly/bichallange) on or before Wednesday, March 8, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be notified on Saturday, March 22, 2025, paving the way for the next phase of the competition.
