 In a proactive move to address the persistent accommodation challenges faced by University of Lagos staff members, the university's Housing Unit has recently undertaken a significant renovation project. A duplex located on Alvan Ikoku Road, within the Akoka campus, has been transformed into two two-bedroom flats, effectively doubling its capacity to provide housing for staff members.

The building, which had previously been occupied by a single university staff member, underwent extensive renovation to create two independent living spaces. The official handover of the newly converted flats took place on Monday, November 6, 2023, with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, personally presenting the keys to the two new occupants.

Dr. Adeonipekun, a distinguished member of the Department of Botany, and Mr. Obiah, a dedicated teacher at the International School, University of Lagos (ISL), were the fortunate recipients of the keys to their respective flats during the ceremony. They expressed their profound appreciation for the university's initiative and efforts to alleviate their accommodation problems.
