The Students Union Government (SUG) of the University of Maiduguri has successfully negotiated with commercial businessmen to reduce the prices of phone, laptop, and power bank charging services on campus.

The meeting, which took place on September 12, 2024, aimed to make these essential services more affordable for students. Despite the businessmen's concerns about the impact of fuel price inflation on their operations, the SUG insisted on the need for reduced prices.

The agreed-upon prices are:

- Handset charging: N100

- Laptop charging: N200

- Power bank charging: N250

The SUG has urged students to report any instances where these agreed-upon prices are not respected. This move demonstrates the SUG's commitment to advocating for the welfare and interests of students.
