The University of Abuja (UniAbuja) has formalized a landmark international cooperation agreement with Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU), Russia, marking a significant expansion of its global academic footprint.

The agreement was officially signed during a virtual ceremony held on Sunday, 29th March 2026, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, and the Rector of Bashkir State Medical University, Professor Valentin Pavlov Ufa.

The formalization of this treaty builds upon a successful existing collaboration between Professor Oseremen Aisuodionoe-Shadrach of UniAbuja’s Department of Surgery, College of Health Sciences, and his academic counterparts in Ufa, Russia.
