The University of Ibadan (UI) has welcomed a delegation from Pennsylvania State University, USA, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships and collaborations between Nigerian tertiary institutions and foreign Higher Education Institutions (HEI). 

Representing the University of Ibadan, Prof. Aderonke M. Baiyeroju, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, warmly received the visiting team on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the collaboration, Prof. Baiyeroju highlighted the significance of the partnership between UI and Pennsylvania State University. She noted the distinguished alumni connection between the institutions, with the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Sakariya Adelola Matemilola (FNSE), and Prof. Sylvester Osagie, leader of the visiting team, both being alumni of UI. This shared heritage, she affirmed, would further cement the bond between the two institutions.

Underlining UI's eagerness to foster international collaborations, Prof. Baiyeroju emphasized that the university currently maintains over 180 active Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with foreign institutions and organizations. She assured the delegation of UI's unwavering commitment to promoting strategic international partnerships for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders involved.
