The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has confirmed a reduction in both faculty and departmental dues following extensive deliberations between the University Management and the Council of Faculty Presidents-Elect (2025/2026).
According to the notice, returning students in the Faculties of Law, Pharmacy, Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), and Dentistry will now pay a consolidated standalone fee of ₦15,000, down from the previous ₦25,000, while freshmen in these faculties will pay ₦20,000.
For all other faculties and departments, faculty dues for returning students have been reduced from ₦15,000 to ₦7,500, and departmental dues have been adjusted from ₦10,000 to ₦8,500. Freshmen in these faculties are required to pay ₦15,000 for faculty dues and ₦10,000 for departmental dues. The notice emphasized that no additional fees should be paid at faculty or departmental offices outside of these approved student association dues.

The university also highlighted that hostel accommodation applications will open soon, noting that delays were caused by technical issues affecting course registration and fee payments on the student portal. Students encountering challenges are advised to contact the university via the provided email addresses.
Additionally, physical screening for all newly admitted students will commence on Monday, 18th November 2025, with a detailed schedule expected to be released before the end of the week. Freshmen are encouraged to prepare and assemble all required documents ahead of the screening exercise.
The update was issued and endorsed by the Council of Faculty Presidents-Elect (2025/2026).
