“The Quality of Restrooms Impacts the Well Being of the Users,” says UI VC

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, fspsp, has noted that the quality of restrooms has great impact on the well being of the users. 

He made this statement at the commissioning of the newly renovated restrooms for staff and patients at the University Health Service (Jaja Clinic).

Professor Adebowale restated that such conveniences depict the value placed on health and well-being, particularly in a hospital, therefore such facility should not be taken for granted.  

He commended the Director, University Health Service, Dr Aderonke Ajav for being an innovative and focused leader, adding that the initiative has challenged the entire university community.

The Vice-Chancellor thanked members of staff in the UHS for their commitment to service and assured them that the university management will intervene in other areas of needs in the clinic. 

Dr Aderonke Ajav in an earlier remark had appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the university management for approving the project, saying environmental health is a major part of health.

She added that as a National Health Insurance provider, the renovated conveniences will make the hospital more attractive to clients, improve patronage and increase revenue.

The Director said that the renovated restrooms were for staff and patients, adding that plans were already afoot to renovate the toilets designated for patients on admission and make them wheel chair friendly.

Dr. Ajav also appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the University management for their efforts towards staff recruitment, provision of alternative power supply, welfare of nurses, workshop for food vendors, the university wellness program for staff members and the refurbishment of the UHS ambulance with the installation of required apparatus.
