UNIZIK Ranks 1,500th in World University Ranking
Nnamdi Azikiwe University achieves a remarkable leap to 1,500th position in global university rankings, signaling notable progress under outgoing Vice Chancellor', Charles Esimone's tenure.
In a notable achievement, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), located in Awka, Anambra State, has surged to the 1,500th position in the latest World University Ranking. This significant leap marks a substantial improvement from its previous standing at 4,497.
The announcement was made by Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, UNIZIK, during the inauguration of a modern Skill Acquisition Centre. This event coincided with the conclusion of the tenure of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Charles Esimone.

The rise in ranking underscores the global recognition of the university's progress and development initiatives under Prof. Esimone's leadership. Prof. Ikechebelu attributed this achievement to the concerted efforts and effective administration during Esimone's tenure.

Senator Uche Ekwunife, who is also the Director General of the South East Governors’ Forum, commended Prof. Esimone for his dedication and service. She emphasized the importance of investing in human capital, which motivated her to establish the largest skill acquisition center at UNIZIK.
