In an inspiring turn of events, a US-based African woman, Lucy Opit, who initially enrolled at Midwest Barber College as a student to pursue a career as a barber, has now become the proud owner of the institution.

Lucy Opit's journey began in 2014 when she enrolled in Midwest Barber College with the goal of training to become a barber. However, little did she know that, within a few years, she would transition from being a student to the school's owner.

The unexpected opportunity arose when the school faced closure, and Lucy was seeking barber equipment and a location for her venture. Instead of purchasing equipment, she ended up acquiring the entire college, thanks to convincing negotiations with the owner.

Lucy explained, "I had just gone through a divorce so I used my settlement for initial capital plus some savings." By 2015, she had obtained her license from the Kansas State of Barbering, allowing her to operate the very college where she had once received training.
