WAEC Considers FEDPOFFA CBT Centre For Maiden WASSCE Examinations
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has picked the Federal Polytechnic Offa as the second Centre in Kwara State for the Maiden CBT WASSCE Examinations for private candidates.
This was contained in a letter written by the examination body and addressed to the Rector to seek for approval of the institution's Centre.
The WAEC team led by the Branch Controller, Mr. Akhanemeh M.A appreciated the Management of the Polytechnic led by Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE for the warm reception and approval of the Polytechnic Centre for the Maiden CBT Examinations.
He noted that the West African Examinations Council is thinking of shifting to CBT examinations, which will kick-start in February 2024 for the private candidates.
Mr. Akhanemeh added that the CBT exams are considered to align to the digital era and ease the stress of the examiners.
The Rector, while welcoming the team, said the Polytechnic has a robust Centre for CBT exams. He added that the Management is equally carrying out an extensive renovation of the Centre for a befitting facelift.
Engr. Dr. Kadiri appreciates WAEC for considering the Federal Polytechnic Offa as its second Centre in the whole Kwara State. He therefore assures WAEC of itch free examinations exercises in the Polytechnic CBT Centre.
According to him," I want to sincerely appreciate the West African Examinations Council for considering the Federal Polytechnic Offa as the second Centre out of the two centres picked in the entire Kwara State. The Management sees this as an opportunity that should be cherished. We have a robust centre for CBT exams. We are also the only centre considered by JAMB for the last examinations. This initiative of WAEC to go digital is commendable and well thought of in the current ICT world. I want to assure WAEC that its maiden CBT exams will be conducted successfully at the Federal Polytechnic Offa CBT centre.”
