Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Awards Diplomas and Certificates to 4,888 Graduands at 14th Convocation
Dr. Sani-Tunga also highlighted that new projects were commissioned by Dr. Yusuf Tanko-Sununu, Minister of State for Education, on Monday, preceding the grand convocation ceremony held at the Shehu Kangiwa Convocation Arena on Tuesday.
The Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, has successfully conferred diplomas and certificates upon a total of 4,888 graduands during its joint 14th convocation ceremony held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Dr. Usman Sani-Tunga, the Rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, announced this achievement while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi. The convocation honored graduands from the 2017/2018 session to the 2022/2023 academic session.

"The ceremony included a pre-convocation lecture themed 'Challenges of Contemporary Nigerian Economy: The Role of Polytechnics in Human Capital Development,' delivered by Prof. Nasiru Musa-Yauri, Vice Chancellor of Al-Qalam University, Katsina State," he stated. "Sen. Atiku Abubakar-Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, chaired the lecture."
Dr. Sani-Tunga also highlighted that new projects were commissioned by Dr. Yusuf Tanko-Sununu, Minister of State for Education, on Monday, preceding the grand convocation ceremony held at the Shehu Kangiwa Convocation Arena on Tuesday.
"During the ceremony, prizes were awarded to deserving graduands, and three distinguished Nigerians, namely Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, Alhaji Abdulsamad Isiyaku-Rabiu, Founder of BUA Group, and the late Alhaji Haruna Rasheed, Emir of Gwandu, were honored with the prestigious fellowship of the polytechnic," he added.
The 14th convocation of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, marked a significant milestone in celebrating the achievements of its graduands and recognizing outstanding contributions to society.
