The Amananaowei of Ofoni Community Community HRH Auditor A. Onakpohor offered prayers for the progress of the University of Africa Toru-orua at his palace in Ofoni Community when the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Solomon Tamarabrakemi Ebobrah paid a familiarization thank-you visit to Ofoni Community.

The Amananaowei of Ofoni Community Community HRH Auditor A. Onakpohor offered prayers for the progress of the University of Africa Toru-orua at his palace in Ofoni Community when the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Solomon Tamarabrakemi Ebobrah accompanied by Principal Officers and other members of staff of the University paid a familiarization/thank-you tour to the Ofoni community.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebobrah speaking during the Visit appreciated the Ofoni community for the warm reception received by the UAT. He also seized the opportunity to extent his sincere appreciation to the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo who is also a son of Ofoni Community. He noted that the Deputy Governor has been very supportive to UAT and as such pleaded with HRH to convey his appreciation to him and the Ofoni people at large.

The VC further noted that the presence of UAT facilities in Ofoni qualifies it as a host community thus the visit. He said the community will be called upon at the right time to be part of a memorandum of understanding drafting committee to ensure that both the university and the community know and do what is expected of them.

He added that the University is currently making plans towards functionalizing the facilities at Ofoni Community but the efforts are impaired due to the financial commitments required, he therefore pleaded that the community elders support the University in the drive to approach the government through their son to ensure the Ofoni campus is kick-started.

The Traditional Ruler who was glad to host the UAT Delegation in his palace offered drinks and prayers for the success of UAT. He stressed that the importance of formal education cannot be over-empahsized as in recent times, even a family secretary I Ofoni is required to have some qualification, adding that education brings relevance and respect.

He stated that the Ofoni Community will support UAT whenever necessary and required, while also adding that he and other chiefs would gladly accompany the management of the university to visit the Deputy Governor to solicit for the necessary support to get the ofoni campus running as soon as possible.

The UAT team was jointly received by the Traditional Ruler, HRH Chief A.A. Onakpohor, members of the Odion Council, members of the Amananaowei Council of Chiefs, Youth Executives, and members of women groups.
