Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Mushroom Research Group Holds Presentation with Cultivated Medicinal Mushrooms Ganoderma Species for Lagos.

The Yaba College of Technology Mushroom Research Group on Wednesday held its NFR Mid Research Seminal titled: Evaluation of Anti Cancer Potential of Some Herbal Combinations with Cultivated Medicinal Mushrooms Ganoderma Species for Lagos.

The presentation focused on the team's latest research findings on the anti-inflammatory properties of mushrooms and their potential use in treating breast cancer.

Dr. Ofodile, the team lead of the Research Group explained that the Research identify a specific compound in mushrooms that had potent anti-inflammatory effects and could be used as a therapeutic agent.

The presentation also covered the team's work on the nutritional benefits of mushrooms, highlighting their high nutrient content and low-calorie count. The team's research showed that mushrooms were a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making them an ideal food for maintaining good health.

The Mushroom Research Team's presentation was well-received by the audience, which included College management, fellow, staff, and students.

Yabatech mushroom research group is made up of research-minded individuals led by Dr. Loretta Ofodile, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Biological Science and a former Director, of College Central Research Laboratory.
