Yobe State University Students Affected by Ongoing ASUU Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Yobe State University (YSU) has been on an indefinite strike since July 11, 2025, over unresolved issues with the state government. Despite the government's approval of new minimum wage structures and salary adjustments for academic and non-academic staff, the strike continues.

The union is demanding full implementation of the approved wage structure, payment of unpaid allowances, and resolution of stagnation of promotions. The Student Union Government (SUG) is actively engaging with the university management and relevant bodies to press for a swift and transparent resolution.
