Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has announced plans to upgrade the Specialist Hospital in Gusau to the status of a University Teaching Hospital. This transformation aims to enhance healthcare services and create a robust referral system within Zamfara University.

In a statement released by his media aide, Suleiman Idris, Governor Lawal highlighted that upgrading the hospital is part of the state government's commitment to revamp the healthcare sector. The facility, currently named 'Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital,' is expected to undergo extensive renovations and expansion.
