A 25-year-old IBBU student, Hussena Sani, was brutally assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, resulting in severe eye injuries.

Hussena Sani, a 25-year-old 400-level Agricultural student at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, endured a horrifying ordeal when she was viciously attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Mohammed Abba Yahaya. The incident, which took place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at approximately 9 PM, has left Hussena with serious eye injuries.

According to Hussena, the attack occurred while she was escorting a visitor in a car to the main road. Mohammed approached her, seemingly agitated after reportedly seeing her with another man. In a fit of rage, he questioned her about the car, to which she responded dismissively. Without warning, Mohammed struck her on the forehead and delivered a devastating blow to her eye, causing her to collapse and bleed profusely.

In a chilling turn of events, after realizing the extent of her injuries, Mohammed callously stole Hussena's iPhone and fled the scene. As Hussena bravely attempted to make her way to his residence to report the incident to his parents, Mohammed attacked her again, this time assaulting her other eye. When Hussena cried out in pain and fear, Mohammed callously remarked that she was fortunate he didn't have a knife, suggesting he might have stabbed her otherwise.

Following the brutal assault, Hussena was rushed to IBB Specialist Hospital and later referred to specialists at Minna General Hospital for treatment. Despite medical intervention, Hussena has unfortunately lost sight in one eye, marking a permanent and devastating consequence of the attack.

Expressing profound concern over her daughter's condition, Hajiya Fatima, Hussena's mother, demanded justice for her daughter, who was preparing to resume her studies at IBBU Lapai. She lamented that Hussena would carry lifelong scars from the traumatic incident.
