AAU wins three awards at Nigeria Technology Awards 2023

The Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has emerged as the winner of three categories at the 9th Nigeria Technology Awards (NITA) 2023, held in Lagos over the weekend.

The university was awarded the State University Website/Portal of the Year, Excellence in Technology Deployment State University, and Best Use of Social Media State University. The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin, who was represented by Mrs. Abiola Laseinde, expressed his delight at the recognition of the university's efforts in driving technological development in Nigeria.

He thanked the organisers and pledged to continue to pursue excellence in technology.The convener of the award ceremonies and Chief Executive Officer of NITA, Mr. Kenneth Omeruo, said that the awards were aimed at encouraging indigenous development of technology in the country.He congratulated the winners and urged them to keep up the good work.

AAU is also known for its achievements in producing a medicine for diabetes and high blood pressure, GLUCOZIL, which got a patent right and NAFDAC certification this year. The university also recorded a 100 percent pass rate in the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Professional Examination 2023 by its nursing and midwifery students.
