Abia State University Tops 2023 Nursing and Midwifery Council Exams
Abia State University (ABSU) has clinched top honors in the November 2023 Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Examinations. The university secured an impressive 95.14% in the Nursing and Midwifery Council examination and an outstanding 97.14% in the Public Health Nursing Council examination, according to recently released results.
In a remarkable achievement, Abia State University (ABSU) has clinched top honors in the November 2023 Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Examinations. The university outshone its peers, securing an impressive 95.14% in the Nursing and Midwifery Council examination and an outstanding 97.14% in the Public Health Nursing Council examination, according to recently released results.
The announcement was made during the 267th Regular meeting of the Senate of Abia State University. Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, the Vice-Chancellor, lauded the exceptional performance of the Department and expressed pride in the university's achievements. He urged the department to sustain the momentum, aligning with the university's motto, "Excellence and Service."

Addressing the gathering, Professor Ogbulu also revealed that the university's management is diligently working towards ensuring the success of the upcoming professional accreditation visit by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria to the University’s College of Medicine. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards, he encouraged all stakeholders to contribute to the university's continued success.

The Vice-Chancellor took the opportunity to express gratitude to the Executive Governor of Abia State and Visitor to the University, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, for his extraordinary and substantial support. He specifically acknowledged Governor Otti's efforts in refurbishing the University Teaching Hospital in Aba, a crucial step towards achieving full accreditation of the Medical program by the professional body.
