Abia State University Uturu's Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Ogbonna Onuoha, served as main speaker at the Press Week organized by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abia State.

In a highly anticipated event, Professor Ogbonna Onuoha, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, delivered a keynote address at the grand finale of the Press Week organized by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abia State.

The lecture, which held on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the Aguiyironsi Conference Centre in Umuahia, focused on the theme, "The 2023 General Elections: A Post-mortem: Media Perspectives In Rebuilding Public Confidence In Future Elections," as announced by Comrade Obinna Ibe, the Chapel's Chairman, and Boniface Okoro, Publicity Sub-Committee Chairman.

Awards of honor were also bestowed upon notable individuals for their significant contributions to society. Among the distinguished recipients are Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), and the Connak Foundation, a charity organization.

Hon. Obi Aguocha, the representative of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South federal constituency at the House of Representatives, presided over the event as the chairman. The Press Week, which commenced with free eye tests for media practitioners on Monday, attracted a diverse audience, including Governor Alex Otti, members of the Abia State House of Assembly, National Assembly members, captains of industry, academics, Mass Communication students, and the general public.
