The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and development of the Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) during a working visit to the Ibusa Campus on Monday, 24th November 2025.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and development of the Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) during a working visit to the Ibusa Campus on Monday, 24th November 2025.

The visit formed part of his familiarisation tour of Nigerian Navy establishments in Delta State.

Vice Admiral Abbas was received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi Ogbogbo, alongside senior management including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Rear Admiral M.M. Abdullahi; Registrar, Commodore Isaac Mankilik (Rtd); Bursar, Captain E.A. Onu, Mni; and University Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Gladys Onyia.

The CNS entourage included the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim; the Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Rear Admiral Abiodun Alade; the Chief of Administration Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Jonathan Mamman; the Director of Operations, Rear Admiral Anefiok Uko; and the Commander of NNS Delta, Commodore Zubairu.

During a comprehensive tour of the University’s facilities, Vice Admiral Abbas assured the management of his unwavering support, pledging to contribute to the institution’s development in areas of infrastructure, manpower, and human capital. He emphasized his resolve to maintain the supportive tradition established by his predecessors.

Professor Ogbogbo expressed gratitude for the CNS’s continued commitment and provided updates on recent achievements in infrastructural development. He noted that the University is scheduled to graduate its fourth set of students on 29th November 2025, highlighting ADUN’s growing reputation as a center of academic excellence under the Nigerian Navy’s stewardship.
