Ado Metropolitan Leo Club, the vibrant youth activity of Ado Metropolitan Lions Club, under the umbrella of Leo District 404B-2 Nigeria, took a proactive stance on Tuesday, 31st October in their campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer. This significant awareness campaign unfolded at the Mary Immaculate Grammar School in Ado Ekiti and coincided with the World Health Organization's International Day against Breast Cancer, typically observed in October.

The Global Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative, a global endeavor, aims to foster education, early detection, and robust support systems for individuals affected by breast cancer. This effort also centers around providing valuable information pertaining to risk factors, symptoms, screening techniques, and various treatment options available for this condition.

The event featured a distinguished guest speaker, Nurse Tosin Oluwatayo, hailing from the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital. Nurse Oluwatayo delivered an insightful lecture during the campaign, emphasizing a crucial message: breast cancer is not a death sentence. With the right approach to treatment, particularly focusing on early disease detection, it is a condition that can be effectively managed.

Additionally, she emphasized the importance of exercise and maintaining a balanced diet as proactive measures to reduce the prevalence of breast cancer.
