The Department of Botany, Faculty of Life Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, has taken a significant step in enhancing learning and research by commissioning a mini computer laboratory. The facility was officially commissioned on June 4, 2025.

The Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Maryam Aminu, commended the department for setting a precedent for others in the faculty. She noted that the computer lab would ease the stress of marking scripts and assist students in carrying out assignments, research, and projects. The Head of the Department of Botany, Prof. Ramatu Aliyu, attributed the establishment of the lab to the generosity of staff members, including Prof. A.K. Adamu and Prof. S.B. Bako, who donated computers, and Prof. W.S. Japhet, who provided internet connectivity.
