Ahmadu Bello University Plays Key Role in Training and Retraining for Other Institutions

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has been playing a significant role in training and retraining for other institutions, according to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adamu Ahmed.

The university received a Ministerial Monitoring Committee on Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) 2025 High Impact Intervention Projects for Medical Schools in six geopolitical zones.

The project aims to improve medical courses and prevent the "japa" syndrome, where medical professionals leave the country. The intervention will focus on procuring simulation and laboratory equipment, rehabilitating lecture venues and laboratories, and upgrading facilities.

Prof. Ahmed emphasized that ABU has been carrying the burden of other institutions through training and retraining. He expressed gratitude to the committee for considering ABU for the project and wished them a successful stay.

The Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Sa'ad Ahmed, stated that the intervention will also cover securing additional phantom heads and dental chairs, setting up a Model Pharmacy, and equipping pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory.
