AKSU Graduating Teachers Inducted into TRCN

The Faculty of Education, Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), held its 7th Induction Ceremony of graduating teachers into the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) on August 7, 2025. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students, who were welcomed into the teaching profession.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. OtoAbasi E. Akpan, advised the newly inducted teachers to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their training, maintain high standards of integrity, and pursue professional excellence.
The Registrar of TRCN, Dr. Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, urged the inductees to uphold the TRCN ethics and protect the dignity of the profession, emphasizing the importance of confidence, innovation, and integrity in teaching.
The Induction Lecturer, Dr. Cecilia Ereh, stressed the need for continuous professional development, stating that teachers must be empowered, developed, and equipped with skills to redefine traditional pedagogical approaches.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Iniobong F. Akpan, welcomed guests and acknowledged the contributions of past Deans. The Director, Centre for Continuing Education, Prof. Franca Anijaobi-Idem, and the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Dominic Ekpo, encouraged the graduating teachers to embody integrity, professionalism, and dedication.
The inductees were formally admitted into TRCN after taking the Oath of Allegiance. The ceremony was attended by notable guests, including TRCN officers, faculty members, and students.
