Ambassador Abdullahi Yerima Formally Hands Over Land Documents for GSU Faculty of Agriculture
The Management of Gombe State University has received the official land documents for the Faculty of Agriculture, Mallam Sidi Campus, generously donated by Ambassador Yerima Abdullahi (Sarki Bai Gombe), during a formal presentation held on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Danladi Umar; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Abdulganiyu Rasheed; the Registrar, Dr. Aliyu Bafeto; the Bursar, Mr. Shehu Hassan; the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Isaac Ediba; the Director of Academic Planning, Professor A. D. Bajoga; and other principal officers of the University were present at the occasion.
Ambassador Yerima Abdullahi was represented by a delegation led by Alhaji Aminu Haruna Abdullahi, the Ajiyan Gombe and Senior District Head of Kwami. Other members of the delegation included Abubakar Idris, Head of Works, Kwami Local Government Area; Ibrahim Haruna Abdullahi; Ibrahim Abubakar Abdullahi; and Shehu Yerima Abdullahi.
Speaking on behalf of the donor, the Ajiyan Gombe conveyed the goodwill and blessings of the traditional institution while commending the Vice-Chancellor for his visionary leadership and remarkable strides in infrastructure development and human capital advancement. He noted that these efforts are steadily positioning Gombe State University on the global academic map.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, expressed profound appreciation to Ambassador Yerima Abdullahi, describing his generosity and commitment to educational development as exceptional and highly commendable.
Professor Yauta further highlighted that the Faculty of Agriculture is a collaborative initiative between Gombe State University and the University of Michigan, adding that its establishment would yield far-reaching socio-economic benefits to the host community through education, employment, research, and community development.
It may be recalled that at the first matriculation of pioneer students of the Faculty of Agriculture at Mallam Sidi, Ambassador Yerima Abdullahi, who attended in person, donated additional portions of land to Gombe State University for the Faculty of Agriculture.
The event reaffirmed the strong partnership between the University, the donor, and the host community, underscoring their shared commitment to advancing agricultural education and sustainable development in Gombe State.
