ASUU Embarks on Indefinite Strike Action at YSU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Yobe State University Branch has commenced an indefinite industrial action, effective immediately.

The strike is aimed at pressing home several local demands that have not been met by the university management.

The union's demands include the implementation of a 35% and 25% wage award for professors and other cadres, partial implementation of the new national minimum wage consequential adjustment, payment of promotion arrears, and other academic allowances.

During the strike, all academic activities, including teaching, supervision, and statutory meetings, will be suspended. The union has informed the university management and the general public that the strike is total and comprehensive .
