Bayero University Kano Selected for Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan Drone Technology Initiative

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has been selected as one of the 10 tertiary institutions nationwide to benefit from Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan's initiative on drone technology training and data analytics and digital transformation. Specifically, the Department of Geology and Environmental Science at BUK has been chosen to participate in this program.

The initiative aims to equip educational institutions with modern tools that will enhance students' learning experiences and provide hands-on training in emerging technologies. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's program has already trained and empowered 250 youths from her constituency with in-demand digital and technical skills, including drone security, environmental sustainability, advanced welding, renewable energy installation, and data analytics .

This initiative could benefit BUK students by providing them with practical skills in drone technology and data analytics, enhancing their employability and preparing them for careers in various industries, 

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan believes that drone technology is a new frontier of socio-economic development, not just in Africa but globally. She emphasized the potential of drones in various industries and their role in promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship .
