Bayero University Kano (BUK) has issued a statement urging peace and calm as normal academic and administrative activities are set to continue amid the planned nationwide protest starting Thursday, August 1, 2024. The university management has assured the community that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of lives and property across all campuses.
In a special bulletin released on Monday, July 29, 2024, the management advised staff and students to remain peaceful, calm, and law-abiding. The bulletin emphasized that any attempts to disrupt the peaceful environment would be met with stern action.

The university management, while acknowledging the right to peaceful assembly, expressed concern for the safety of its staff, students, and property. They urged everyone to exercise caution and avoid exposure to potential dangers. Suspicious activities or movements within the campuses should be reported immediately for appropriate action.
The statement was signed by Lamara Garba, Deputy Registrar of Public Affairs, on behalf of the Acting Registrar.
