BIC Donates Writing Essentials to Lagos State Students

A stationery company ,BIC has donated a significant quantity of writing materials to students in Lagos State. Explaining the purpose behind this initiative, BIC highlighted its goal to enhance students' performance during the critical examination period of the West Africa Examinations Council and the National Examinations Council.

In an effort to support education and empower students, A stationery company ,BIC has donated  a significant quantity of writing materials to students in Lagos State. 

Explaining the purpose behind this initiative, BIC highlighted its goal to enhance students' performance during the critical examination period of the West Africa Examinations Council and the National Examinations Council.

This act of giving is part of the company’s pledge to enhance the learning environment for 250 million students by 2025, under its “Writing the Future Together” sustainable development initiative.

The contribution was formally handed over to the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, in the presence of the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Abayomi Abolaji, along with BIC’s Mr. Adeyemi Ojo and Mr. Patrick Bello, and delegates from selected schools.

Adeyemi Ojo, the Business Development Lead at BIC Nigeria, expressed, "“We are honoured to support the education space in Nigeria, and more specifically the Lagos State Government. We are humbled to have had the opportunity to contribute towards improving learning conditions for our youth by providing them with the necessary writing tools during the most crucial examination period."

In response, The Commissioner for Basic Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun acknowledged BIC’s contribution to the educational sector and urged the firm to consider developing the sector in terms of providing students scholarship and to establish a teacher training programme to further reinstate their contributions to the sector. "We are grateful for BIC’s generosity. As a household name known for high-quality pens, this donation will make a real difference in the lives of our students. We encourage BIC to explore further collaboration in areas like student scholarships, teacher training, digitalisation of our schools, and school infrastructure development, aligning with our T.H.E.M.E PLUS agenda", he said.
