Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, under the leadership of Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, concluded a comprehensive onboarding session for its newly appointed heads of departments on Friday, April 12, 2024. The two-day session, held at the Senate Chambers of the University's Igbariam Campus, aimed at fostering a cohesive team spirit and clarifying the roles and responsibilities of department heads in line with COOU's vision for excellence.

Dr. Harrison Madubueze, the University's Public Relations Officer, provided an overview of the event, highlighting key discussions led by esteemed speakers. These included sessions on building a collaborative team spirit led by Prof. Uche Amazigo, understanding academic administration by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Prof. Osita Chiaghanam, exploring Tenece Solutions by a team from the University's ICT providers, and delving into accountability, transparency, and budgeting by Ag. Bursar Dr. Nath Udezo. The Vice Chancellor's presentation emphasized the importance of fostering teamwork to achieve the university's goals.

Ethical integrity emerged as a central theme on April 12th, with a presentation titled "Integration of Ethics in Higher Education" by Prof. Casimir K.C. Ani from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. By joining the global alliance of Ethical Universities, COOU reaffirmed its commitment to ethical standards and its determination to effect positive change.
