COAS Orders Immediate Investigation into Killing of Civilian at Command School

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has ordered an immediate investigation into the alleged killing of a civilian staff member by private soldiers at Command Secondary School, Iyana Ipaja. This directive follows concerns raised by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) regarding the treatment of civilian workers at the school.
Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, announced the COAS's directive in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja emphasized his commitment to upholding the rights of all personnel, including civilian staff, and directed the Provost Marshal (Army) to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.

The investigation aims to address all allegations raised by the ASCSN, focusing on ensuring accountability and justice for all parties involved. Currently, the Nigerian Army is engaging with the Ministry of Defence and the ASCSN to address any outstanding issues and promote a cordial working relationship and industrial harmony.
