Dekina LG Chairman Holds Security Meeting with PAAU Management to Strengthen Campus Safety

The Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government, Hon. John Urah Ikani, held a strategic security meeting with the Vice-Chancellor and management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAUU) in Anyigba, focusing on enhancing security measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. John Urah Ikani, recently met with the Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAUU), Professor Mariatu Ohunene Tenuche, along with university management, to address pressing security concerns on campus. The meeting, held in Anyigba, was aimed at developing effective strategies to safeguard lives and property within the institution.

During the discussion, Hon. Ikani emphasized the crucial role education plays in societal growth, praising the Vice Chancellor and her team for the university's positive progress. “Education is the foundation of societal advancement, and PAUU is an asset to Dekina LG. We are committed to securing the institution to ensure continued access to quality education for our people,” he said.

Hon. Ikani also highlighted the university's economic impact on the Dekina and Anyigba communities, reiterating that the security of PAUU remains a top priority. He called upon security agencies, including the Nigeria Army, Police, and Civil Defense, to actively protect the university to maintain a conducive learning environment.

In response, Professor Tenuche thanked the Local Government Chairman for his support and assurance, pledging that the university would continue to provide quality education and mentorship for students. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Registrar, Barrister Yahaya Segun, and other university officials.
