Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced a one-week postponement of the 2024/2025 Students’ Union Government (SUG) election.

The decision was communicated through an internal memorandum issued on November 26, 2025, by the Deputy Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Israel Odede.

According to Dr. Odede, the election, initially scheduled for Friday, November 28, has been rescheduled to allow for thorough preparation and to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.

The revised timetable for the election is as follows:

  • Collection and Submission of Nomination Forms: Wednesday, 19th – Friday, 21st November, 2025
  • Screening of Qualified Candidates: Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025
  • Campaign Period: Wednesday, 3rd – Thursday, 4th December, 2025
  • Manifesto Presentation: Thursday, 4th December, 2025
  • Election by Electronic Voting: Friday, 5th December, 2025
  • Collation and Announcement of Results: Friday, 5th December, 2025
  • Swearing-in of Elected Officials: Monday, 8th December, 2025

The Students’ Affairs Division urged all students to take note of the revised schedule and reiterated its commitment to conducting a transparent, credible, and peaceful election. Students seeking further clarification were advised to contact Dr. Israel Odede, Deputy Dean, Students’ Affairs Division.
