Dr. Olubukola Adenubi Receives Oba Kansi's Award for Veterinary Research Excellence
Dr. Olubukola Adenubi, a Reader at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been honored with the Oba (Dr.) K.A.O Sansi Memorial Award of Excellence in Veterinary Research.

Dr. Olubukola Adenubi, a Reader in the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been honored with the esteemed Oba (Dr.) K.A.O Sansi Memorial Award of Excellence in Veterinary Research. The award recognizes Dr. Adenubi's remarkable contributions to veterinary research, her leadership in the scientific community, and her outstanding mentorship of trainees and colleagues in Ogun State.
The prestigious award was presented to Dr. Adenubi on Thursday, April 25, 2024, during the celebration of World Veterinary Day (WVD) themed "Veterinarians are Essential Health Workers." The event was organized by the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Ogun State Chapter, and took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).
Dr. Adenubi is widely respected for her expertise in Small Animal Medicine, including Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology/Toxicology. She achieved certification as a Fellow of the College of Veterinary Surgeons of Nigeria in January 2024. Her research focuses on exploring natural products such as plant and microbial species for the development of drug precursors aimed at managing economically significant disease vectors and infectious disease pathogens in both veterinary and medical fields.

Notably, Dr. Adenubi has advocated for the integration of safe and effective natural products into mainstream medicine to enhance the quality of life, particularly in underserved African communities. In recognition of her academic excellence, Dr. Adenubi has received prestigious grants and awards, including the esteemed L’Oreal-UNESCO Award for the top five female PhD students in Africa.
