The training brought together senior academics who delivered targeted sessions on professional ethics, instructional delivery, and the effective use of digital teaching tools, reflecting the University’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards.
Leading the session on academic ethics and professional conduct, Professor Florence Masajuwa emphasised the importance of integrity in scholarship, originality in academic writing, and responsible engagement with artificial intelligence tools. She also addressed the need for clear professional boundaries in lecturer-student relationships, underscoring ethical responsibility as a cornerstone of academic excellence.
Participants were also introduced to institutional digital systems, including the Learning Management System (LMS) and the Academic Information System (AIS), in a session facilitated on behalf of Dr. Ayodele Makinde. The session focused on equipping lecturers with the technical competence required for efficient course delivery and academic administration in a digital learning environment.
Further contributions highlighted the importance of adopting interactive teaching methodologies and utilising current, relevant learning materials to enhance student engagement. Speakers also reinforced the need for strict adherence to ethical standards in all aspects of academic practice.

In his closing remarks, the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Oaihimire Idemudia Edetalehn, urged the new academic staff to remain committed to diligence, professionalism, and the core values of the University.
The training programme was widely regarded as a strategic initiative to strengthen teaching quality, equipping participants with the foundational skills and institutional knowledge required for effective performance within the Faculty.
