The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has announced that it would commence the disconnection of electricity supply to universities with outstanding bills on June 10. The decision arises in response to the substantial accumulation of unpaid electricity bills and accrued arrears, which have posed significant financial challenges for the company.

To sustain its operations and uphold service provision, the EEDC emphasized the necessity for customers to settle their bills for consumed energy promptly.
According to them, without the full payment of these bills, it would encounter difficulties in maintaining operational efficiency and enhancing service standards.
