Farewell Ceremony: FEDPOFFA Management Honours 6 Retirees Amidst Prayer, Fun Fare

The Management led by the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE has organized a befitting Farewell Ceremony for staff members who retired from services of the Polytechnic between July and December, 2023. 

The event, held on Friday 15th December, 2023 was kicked off with a welcome address from the Chairman, Committee on Endowment for Retirees, Dr. S. O. Ogunjimi who commended the 6 retirees and thanked them for their diligent labour for the advancement of the Polytechnic. 

Speaking further, Dr. Ogunjimi commended the Management for  approving the farewell ceremony adding that the  event was borne out of observation of the perceive indecent manner in which members have been retiring after years of meritorious service without celebration. 

Dr. Ogunjimi noted that the Rector's dedication and leadership were remarkable and emphasized the commitments of the Management to ensuring that retirees depart with a sense of pride and accomplishments.

In his farewell address, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru, FNSE, expressed profound appreciation, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the retirees who were integral to the Polytechnic's evolution. He bestowed well wishes upon them, assuring them that their legacy would endure within the institution for generations.

According to him, "Dear retirees, you have put in your best efforts to the growth of this Polytechnic. You have worked tirelessly—now it is time to enjoy all that you have laboured for over the years. As you join the seniors of this great country, all of us here at FEDPOFFA pray for your good health. We all hope that your life after retirement is filled with happy moments and many beautiful memories. I am proud to say that the knowledge and skills we have gained from you will positively impact our community and the country at large."

Speaking further, Engr. Dr. Kadiri advised the retirees to have a workable plans for their retirement. He advised them further  to do regular medical check-up and socialize by joining groups that will be beneficial to them. 

While responding on behalf of the  celebrants, Mr. Onijala J. A. appreciates the Management Team for celebrating them. He prayed to God to give other staff who are still in service the grace to finish well. He appreciated the Organizing Committee for a job well done. 

The retirees include: Dr. Michael Oladepo Agboola; Mr. Onijala J. A, Engr. Olaboye, Y. O.; Mr. Jones Olamitayo Ifabiyi; Mr. Adekanye Timothy Ayo; and Mr. Jeremiah Segun Owoseni.

The ceremony featured presentation of appreciation plaques,  Certificates of Meritorious Service, cash and gift items to the celebrants.

In attendance were the Deputy Rector (Administration), Dr. Salimonu Rasheed Ishaq; Deputy Rector (Academics), Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Bola Aliyu; Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Soko; Representative of the Bursar, Mr. Aduradola Phillips, Representative of Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Emmanuel Adio; Deans, Directors, HODs/HOUs, Union Leaders and Staff members.
