The Bauchi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has pledged to collaborate with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to encourage its officers and personnel to enrol in the University’s flexible Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes.
The commitment was made during an advocacy visit to the FRSC Command Headquarters in Bauchi by Dr. Madu Galadima, Director of NOUN Bauchi Study Centre, and his team. Sector Commander I.A. Ibrahim commended the delegation for the enlightenment visit and pledged to sensitize FRSC officers on the benefits of furthering their education through NOUN’s ODL system.
Dr. Galadima explained that the visit forms part of NOUN’s ongoing advocacy campaign to raise awareness among security agencies about its academic offerings and to foster institutional collaboration. He highlighted that NOUN operates over 100 study centres nationwide, offering more than 1,000 courses across various disciplines through a flexible, technology-driven learning model tailored for working professionals.
The director also outlined the University’s examination system, noting that both Pen-on-Paper (PoP) and Computer-Based Test (CBT) assessments are conducted twice annually, and students receive online and printed study materials to support effective learning. Officers were encouraged to take advantage of NOUN’s accessible programmes to advance their qualifications and professional development.
The visit concluded with an interactive session, during which the NOUN team briefed FRSC personnel on admission procedures, registration processes, course options, and fees, addressing questions from interested officers.
