FUNAAB Appoints Professors Kehinde, Ayo-John, and Sanwo as University Orators
FUNAAB has appointed three distinguished professors as University Orators. At a special Senate meeting on June 11, 2024, Prof. Iyabode Kehinde, Prof. Emily Ayo-John, and Prof. Kehinde Sanwo were selected based on their outstanding audition performances.
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has appointed three distinguished professors as University Orators. At a special meeting held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the University Senate approved the appointments of Prof. Iyabode Kehinde from the Department of Pure and Applied Botany, College of Biosciences (COLBIOS); Prof. Emily Ayo-John from the Department of Crop Protection, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT); and Prof. Kehinde Sanwo from the Department of Animal Production and Health, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM).

According to a circular issued by the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, these appointments were based on the professors' outstanding performances during the auditioning process for prospective University Orators. Prof. Kehinde currently serves as the Dean of COLBIOS, while Prof. Emily Ayo-John is the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS).

The new orators are expected to bring their expertise and eloquence to enhance the university’s ceremonial functions, complementing the existing team of University Orators. Their roles will include delivering speeches and conducting official university ceremonies, ensuring that FUNAAB's events are conducted with the highest level of professionalism and decorum.

This strategic appointment is part of FUNAAB's ongoing efforts to maintain excellence in its academic and administrative functions, reflecting the university's commitment to nurturing leadership and promoting academic distinction.
