The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Staff School organized its Annual Teachers’ Workshop on September 10, 2025, ahead of the 2025/2026 academic session starting September 15.

The event focused on equipping teachers with skills and strategies to enhance classroom effectiveness and professional performance.

The workshop, held in the school hall, featured lectures and discussions aimed at strengthening pedagogical approaches and planning for the new school year.

Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Chairman of the FUNAAB Schools Management Board, opened the session on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde. He praised the staff for their commitment and highlighted the achievements of the previous academic year, urging teachers to reflect on lessons learned and prepare strategically for the year ahead.

Headteacher Mrs. Florence Alade welcomed participants, emphasizing the workshop theme, “Modern Trend in the Teaching Profession: A Yardstick for Effective Service Delivery.” She encouraged continuous professional development to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Dr. Matthew Oose of the Career Services and Linkages Unit (CSLU) delivered a lecture on “Career Coaching, Guidance, and Mentoring Excellence,” stressing the importance of nurturing each child’s cognitive, emotional, and physical development, and recognizing individual talents for long-term growth.

Dr. Oladapo Elugbadebo of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, presented “Enhancing Teachers’ Attitude to Job Delivery,” describing educators as agents of change and urging them to adopt innovative teaching methods and continually develop their skills.

Dr. Abdussobur Salaam, Deputy Registrar I, Senate and Admissions, and National Vice-President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), delivered the final lecture on professional conduct and adherence to institutional regulations in university-affiliated schools, emphasizing discipline, integrity, and compliance as essential for maintaining high educational standards.

The workshop concluded with teachers reflecting on strategies to improve professional practice, leaving them well-prepared for a productive and successful 2025/2026 academic session.
