FUTA Principal Internal Auditor, Felicia Famuyide, Installed as Chairperson of Society of Women Accountants, Akure Chapter

Mrs. Felicia Adunola Famuyide, Principal Internal Auditor at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), has been installed as the 7th Chairperson of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Akure Chapter.

Mrs. Felicia Adunola Famuyide, Principal Internal Auditor at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), has been installed as the 7th Chairperson of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Akure Chapter.

Her investiture took place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at ICAN House, Akure.

In her inaugural address, Mrs. Famuyide pledged to lead the association with integrity, strengthen collaboration among members, and advance the cause of the accounting profession.

The Vice Chancellor of FUTA, Professor Adenike Oladiji, congratulated Mrs. Famuyide on her installation and described her as a worthy ambassador of the University. She urged her to discharge her duties with excellence and commitment to professional standards.

The ceremony was attended by leaders of the accounting profession, representatives of ICAN, family members, and colleagues from FUTA.

Profile of the 7th Chairperson of SWAN, Akure Chapter
Born on July 19, 1967, in Owo, Ondo State, Mrs. Famuyide began her early education at St. John/Mary’s Demonstration Primary School, Owo, and later attended St. Catherine’s Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Owo. She holds an NCE in Accountancy, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ekiti State University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting at Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Osun State.

She joined FUTA in 1992 as a Clerical Officer (Audit) and rose through the ranks to become Principal Internal Auditor in January 2022. A Fellow of ICAN since December 2023, she is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Auditors (MICMA).

At FUTA, she has served in multiple capacities, including Financial Secretary of SSANU Cooperative, member of various audit and welfare committees, and chair of loan committees. Within ICAN, she has contributed at both national and district levels, serving on the AATWA Executive Committee, Entrepreneur Committee, Accountants Investigating Panel, and other strategic bodies.

Her service to SWAN spans several leadership roles, including Welfare Officer, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-Chairperson II, and Vice-Chairperson I before her current elevation to Chairperson.

Beyond her profession, Mrs. Famuyide has contributed to community and national service as a WAEC examiner, ad-hoc staff of the National Population Commission, and INEC collation officer.

She is deeply committed to her Christian faith, serving as Secretary of the Ministers’ Wives Fellowship of Christ Apostolic Church, Oyemekun DCC, Akure, since 2004, and as a Sunday School Teacher since 1983.

Mrs. Famuyide is married to Pastor Famuyide Samuel Adebusuyi, and they are blessed with children.
