FUTIA Vice-Chancellor Receives NANS National Ex-Officio, Pledges Support for Student Welfare

Professor Daniel gave the assurance on Monday, June 22, 2026, when he received the National Ex-Officio of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Patience Nnyenime, at the university's take-off campus in Ikot Abasi.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Nnyenime explained that her tour formed part of a familiarisation exercise with the management and student leadership of tertiary institutions across Akwa Ibom State and the wider zone. She noted that the visit was aimed at strengthening relationships between NANS and higher institutions while exploring areas of mutual cooperation.
She highlighted opportunities for collaboration between the apex student body and tertiary institutions in the state and used the occasion to present a Medal of Honour to the Vice-Chancellor in recognition of his leadership.

In his remarks, Professor Daniel welcomed the NANS delegation on behalf of the university management, staff, students, and the wider university community. He expressed appreciation for the recognition and assured the association of the university's readiness to work closely with student stakeholders in promoting the interests and welfare of students.
The Vice-Chancellor also conducted the delegation around the university's master plan, providing insights into the institution's developmental vision and ongoing efforts to build a world-class technology-driven university.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the FUTIA Students' Representative Council, Comrade Alfred Peter, who represented the student leadership of the institution.

The visit further underscored the importance of constructive engagement between university administrations and student representatives in advancing educational development and student welfare.
