Gombe State University Distributes Ramadan Palliatives to Junior Staff

The Management of Gombe State University has distributed Ramadan palliative items to members of the University’s junior staff as part of efforts to support staff welfare during the holy month.

The exercise, carried out under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, provided essential food items including rice, sugar, and millet to staff in the junior cadre such as security personnel, gardeners, cleaners, and drivers.

Speaking during the distribution, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Danladi Umar, commended the Vice-Chancellor for sustaining the gesture, describing it as a reflection of compassionate and inclusive leadership. He noted that supporting junior staff during Ramadan strengthens morale and promotes unity within the University community.

Also speaking, the Chief Security Officer, Lt. Commodore Jaafaru Kamara (Rtd.), expressed appreciation to the University management and assured that the security unit would remain committed to maintaining a peaceful environment for academic activities.

Similarly, the University Transport Officer, Idris Umar, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and acknowledged his continued support and commitment to the welfare of staff.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, as well as the Chairman of Gombe Local Government Area, Barr. Sani A. A. Haruna, and other stakeholders including Dr. Jabir Hamza. He also expressed appreciation to the Executive Secretary of Gombe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi, for their continued support toward initiatives aimed at assisting staff and the less privileged within the University community.

The Ramadan palliative initiative highlights the University management’s commitment to staff welfare, inclusive leadership, and strengthening partnerships that support the progress of Gombe State University.
