Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the appointment of Professor Razaq Kalilu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.

The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Salihu Adelabu. According to the statement, Professor Kalilu, who joined the service of LAUTECH in 1992, will serve as the substantive Vice-Chancellor for a single term of five years, effective June 12, 2024.
Governor Makinde expressed his government's expectation of Professor Kalilu's hard work, diligence, and professionalism in realizing the administration's mission for the institution. "Prof Kalilu, a well-established figure in the world of art and art history, joined the service of LAUTECH on September 1, 1992. He was pronounced a professor of Arts and History, Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Environmental Sciences on October 1, 1999," the statement said.
Professor Kalilu is a specialist in Form and Material and is a member of several academic and intellectual organizations, including the Australian Ceramic Society, the International Association of Astronomical Artists, and a Fellow of the Society of Nigerian Artists.
The appointment of Professor Kalilu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH is seen as a positive development for the institution, and his wealth of experience and expertise is expected to contribute to the growth and development of the university.
