The Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) in Ado Ekiti witnessed an unsettling incident on Monday when hoodlums attacked the facility and forcibly removed a corpse from the Accident and Emergency Complex. The incident, which led to the vandalization of hospital property, was reportedly triggered by the death of a man.

The hospital's management, in collaboration with police authorities, held discussions with the state Chairman of the Road Transport Association to address the situation. Four armed policemen were stationed at the Accident and Emergency section, and two armed policemen were placed at the main gate to enhance the hospital's security.

Professor Olabanji assured that the management would take legal action against those responsible for the attack, emphasizing that a similar incident in the Neo-Natal Ward was already being prosecuted. He urged staff members to remain calm, assuring them that measures were being implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.

The Chief Medical Director further emphasized the commitment to the safety and well-being of hospital staff, stating that any act of molestation during duty would not be tolerated.
