Success Anum, a 22-year-old resident of the Kwande Local Government Area in Benue State, has taken on the unconventional role of a dispatch rider to fund her twin sister's education. In a recent interview, she shared her journey and the challenges she has faced.

Born into a modest family, Success's father was a trader, and her mother worked as a farmer. She is one of six siblings, with only her twin sister, Sonia Anum, still under their mother's care.

To support herself and contribute to her sister's schooling, Success became a dispatch rider, conveying various items from one location to another. Sonia, her twin sister, occasionally joins her on her dispatch rider duties when she's not at school.

Success recognized the valuable transferable skills gained from her job, including teamwork, problem-solving, relationship-building, communication, and listening skills. She believes these skills will serve her well in her future career.

While working as a dispatch rider, Success is determined to return to school and has started exploring educational opportunities at institutions in Lagos, such as Yaba College of Technology and the University of Lagos.

Success's journey into the world of dispatch riding started after her diploma program when she worked as a sales attendant at a petroleum company in Lagos. She was intrigued by the dispatch rider profession and learned about the pay and potential for profit from experienced riders who frequented the company.

Despite daily accidents and various challenges, Success's motivation remains unwavering. She embarked on this path seeking a unique and different experience, the opportunity to meet new people, and make friends.

As a female dispatch rider in a male-dominated field, Success faces a range of reactions from customers. Some are encouraging, tipping her for her services, while others cancel orders upon realizing she is a female rider. Success deals with misconceptions and skepticism about her ability to perform the job.

To prepare for her return to school, Success has been diligently saving money to cover her educational expenses. She faces challenges in her role as a dispatch rider, including non-payment by some customers and harassment by local troublemakers demanding money.

To ensure her safety on the roads, Success emphasizes the importance of maintaining her bike's mechanical aspects and adhering to traffic rules. Her ultimate ambition is to become the CEO of one of Nigeria's largest logistics companies, venture into business, and establish a modern farming system.

Despite the challenges and stereotypes, Success Anum remains determined to work hard and achieve her dreams while staying true to her commitment to a lawful and independent life.
