The Management of the Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) recently held an orientation program to welcome its new students for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The event, hosted in the university’s main auditorium, introduced the incoming class to the campus culture and provided essential information to help them navigate university life.

In his welcome speech, Vice Chancellor Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye encouraged the students to strive for excellence and focus on making the most of their time at IUO. He reminded them of the importance of using their education to make meaningful contributions to society, saying, “You are now part of the IUO family, where innovation and excellence are our core values.”

Key members of the university’s leadership, including Dr. Ya’u Abubakar Gagarawa, the Chief Medical Director of Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, were also in attendance to show their support. Professor Ezemonye stressed that the orientation was more than just a formal introduction. It was designed to give students a solid understanding of the university’s expectations and prepare them for the academic challenges ahead.

As the event wrapped up, Professor Ezemonye left the students with words of encouragement: “Your time at IUO is what you make of it. Work hard, aim high, and embrace the culture of excellence”.
