International Institute Of Qur’anic Science Holds Monthly Lecture Series and Qur’anic Writing Competition at KHAIRUN

The International Institute of Qur’anic Science (IIQS) of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) on Thursday, 30th October, 2025, successfully held its monthly lecture series and organized a Qur’anic writing competition.

The event, which brought together scholars, students, and members of the university community, is part of KHAIRUN’s ongoing initiative to promote Qur’anic knowledge, moral excellence, and community engagement. The Qur’anic writing competition was designed to encourage proficiency in Qur’anic calligraphy, understanding, and memorization among participants, while the lecture series provided a platform for intellectual and spiritual enlightenment.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, commended the institute for its commitment and consistency in advancing the university’s vision of integrating Qur’anic values with modern education. He emphasized that such initiatives reflect KHAIRUN’s dedication to nurturing well rounded students who are intellectually grounded and spiritually guided.

The Vice-Chancellor further noted that the activities of IIQS complement the university’s three compulsory programmes: Qur’anic Recitation and Memorization, Moral Lessons, and Entrepreneurship, which are aimed at building morally upright, knowledgeable, and self reliant graduates.
