The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has called on private universities to maintain high standards in promoting character and learning among their students. This statement was made during a facility inspection at Amadeus University, a newly established private institution in Amizi, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

Represented by the JAMB Coordinator in Abia State, Mrs. Juliet Aniekwe, Prof. Oloyede advised the management of Amadeus University to prioritize the employment of qualified academic staff to ensure that students receive a high-quality education. He emphasized the importance of research and innovation, urging the university to invest in these areas to cultivate the next generation of global leaders. “Research and development of new ideas is the hallmark of tertiary education. I encourage you to invest in research to raise the next generation of global superstars who will always stand out in their various academic pursuits,” he stated.

The Vice-Chancellor of Amadeus University, Prof. Samuel Nzota, highlighted the institution's commitment to producing globally competitive and practically oriented graduates who will contribute positively to sustainable societal development. He outlined the university's mission to create a conducive learning environment supported by functional infrastructure designed to produce self-employable and productive graduates. Prof. Nzota also announced that the university has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer 19 unique programs across 13 departments and four faculties.

Amadeus University has made significant investments in modern facilities, including free internet services on campus, digitalized records and results, state-of-the-art hostel accommodations, a health center, and a well-equipped cafeteria. Speaking on security, the Vice-Chancellor affirmed the institution's zero tolerance for cultism and other social vices, with measures in place to enforce this stance.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education in Abia State, Prof. Uche Eme Uche, represented by the Deputy Director of Research in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Nnenna Anyanwu, commended the university's efforts to create a world-class learning environment. She assured that the state government would provide the necessary support to help the institution grow and thrive.

Mr. Onyekachi Uguru, a staff member of the Ministry of Education who was part of the inspection tour, praised Amadeus University for its investment in state-of-the-art facilities. He stressed the importance of adhering to the required academic standards and encouraged the institution to recruit skilled personnel to uphold a competitive academic environment. This, he noted, would not only enhance the university's reputation but also strengthen Abia State's position as a leader in quality education within Nigeria.
