Kano State High Court Restrains Government Action Against Private Schools

The Kano State High Court has issued an ex-parte order restraining the state government from taking any action against private primary and secondary schools in the state. The order, which maintains the status quo, was granted by Justice Nasiru Saminu after hearing a motion ex-parte filed by Barr. AbdulHafees Khalid on behalf of the applicants.

The applicants in the suit include various educational associations representing private schools. The court order specifically restrains the government and its agents from taking any steps related to a notice titled "REMINDER FOR NON-COMPLIANCE WITH KANO STATE LAW 2014" issued to the applicants. The matter has been adjourned to November 21, 2023, for further proceedings.
